MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women's tennis team (1-0) will take to the road for the first time this season on Sunday, Feb. 1, when they travel to Coral Gables, Fla., to take on No. 22 Miami (Fla.).
The Mountaineers are coming off a 6-1 season-opening victory over Wright State on Wednesday, Jan. 28, in which WVU won all but one singles match while sweeping the doubles competition.
West Virginia will look to sophomore Melissa Day to lead the charge along with seniors Courtney Howell and Jennifer Watkins, fellow sophomore Raynie Theis and freshmen Ashley Constantine and Kelly Walsh.
"Miami is an outstanding team," coach Dan Silverstein says. "It's going to be a great early season challenge for us, but we are excited to compete against one of the top programs in the country."
Sunday's match, West Virginia's first BIG EAST test of the season, is scheduled to get underway at noon.
