PROVIDENCE - Followers of The BIG EAST Conference can gather extensive information for the 2004 men's and women's basketball championships on the web through special sections on the official BIG EAST web site at www.bigeast.org. Highlighting the areas will be live statistics from each championship contest.
The 2004 BIG EAST Women's Basketball Championship presented by State Farm runs March 6-9 at the Hartford Civic Center in Hartford, Connecticut. Users will be able to access box scores as well as play-by-play from each contest LIVE and in-progress direct from the arena. Statistics will be updated as the game is being played, allowing for real-time access to player information and scoring.
The 2004 BIG EAST Men's Basketball Championship will be held March 10-13 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Once again, users can also access box scores and play-by-play from in-progress games direct from the MSG. In addition, transcripts of each coach's post-game press conference will also be on the site shortly after the media press conferences are completed.
The special championship sections on the BIG EAST web site contain information on all aspects of the championships, including scores, brackets, rosters, records and tournament history. Ticket information is also available, along with seating charts and directions to the arenas.
The live stats from each event will be provided by The BIG EAST Conference in conjunction with Internet Consulting Services of Syracuse, N.Y.
