MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The 17th-ranked West Virginia University wrestling team plays host to Clarion University on Sunday, Jan. 25, at 1 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum.
Clarion (2-4, 0-1) qualified four wrestlers to the NCAAs a year ago and only one returns for the Golden Eagles in 2003-2004. The Mountaineers (3-4, 1-0) defeated the Clarion, 22-14, last season in Clarion, Pa. The series began in 1979 and WVU holds a 15-3-0 advantage over the Golden Eagles all-time.
Clarion will wrestle EWL foe Edinboro on Saturday before traveling to Morgantown, W.Va.
The Mountaineers return to the mat on Thursday, Feb. 6, to face EWL rival Pitt, at 8 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum.
