Women's Soccer: Kane Honored for Academics

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University junior women's soccer standout Laura Kane was recently named second-team scholar All-America by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Kane, a Pottstown, Pa., native, is a first-time scholar All-America honoree. She is a physical education/teaching major who currently boasts a 3.75 GPA.
This past season, Kane was the Mountaineers third highest scorer with eight goals and four assists on the season. A forward, she started every match for a West Virginia squad that finished the season 17-4-2 and earned the program's first-ever trip the NCAA Sweet 16.
Kane is the third Mountaineer to earn NSCAA Scholar All-America honors in women's soccer history. Past recipients were Stacey Sollmann (1997) and Melissa Haire (2002).
