MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University freshman forward Meg Bulger was named Big East co-rookie of the week, the league announced Sunday.
Bulger scored a season-high 14 points in West Virginia’s road win at St. John’s last Tuesday, making 5 of 10 field goal attempts including 3 of 5 from three-point range. Bulger followed that up with a 5-point, 2-assist effort in West Virginia’s 64-51 win over Notre Dame.
Bulger, who is averaging 7.2 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, shared the award with Syracuse’s Lauren Kohn, who averaged 11.5 points in two Big East wins over Rutgers and Providence.
Bulger has won the Big East award twice this season.
