MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The West Virginia University women's indoor track team received national recognition on Tuesday, Jan. 13, when it was labeled as the No. 10 ranked team in the country by Trackwire.com.
Available online since the 1997 season, the Trackwire 25 has established itself as the most widely respected ranking of Division I collegiate track & field teams.
West Virginia's No. 10 ranking comes on the heels of an outstanding performance at the Black Squirrel Classic on Saturday, Jan. 10, in Kent, Ohio. Senior Ciara Chic took top honors in the 60m dash while junior Megan Metcalfe finished first in the 800m for the Mountaineers.
West Virginia returns to action on Jan. 30-31 when they travel to State College, Pa., to take part in the National Open.
