MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The West Virginia University women's cross country team will travel to take part in the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 27, at the West Branch Cross Country Course in Lock Haven, Pa., at 11 a.m.
West Virginia has been idle since winning the overall team title at the Duquesne Duals on September 6. Leading the way for the Mountaineers this weekend will be juniors Megan Metcalfe, Devon Plesuk, Jennifer Davis, Rachel Carden, Jennifer Kemp and Tara Struyk and sophomore Susan Davis.
This will be the first of two opportunities for the Mountaineers to run on the West Branch Cross Country Course. This year's Mid-Atlantic regional championship is being hosted by Lock Haven and the race will take place at the same location.
"This will be a great chance for our girls to get some experience on the regional course," coach Jeff Huntoon said. "This race is one of the integral steps we are taking to prepare ourselves for the regional championship in November."
