MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The WVU volleyball team (1-5) is set for three matches at the Bowling Green State Invitational on Sept. 12-13, at the Anderson Arena in Bowling Green, Ohio.
The Mountaineers will take on tournament host Bowling Green at 11 a.m., and then Iowa State at 8 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 12. WVU will then face Murray State in a 12:30 p.m., match on Saturday, Sept. 13.
West Virginia coach Veronica Hammersmith still remains just two victories away from 500 for her career. She will become just the second coach in the history of WVU athletics to accomplish that feat, joining legendary baseball coach Dale Ramsburg, who is West Virginia's all-time winningest coach at 540 victories.
Sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Zolna leads West Virginia with 68 kills and is second on the squad with 72 digs. Senior outside hitter Dimitra Havriluk paces WVU in the digs category with 75 while sophomore middle blocker Alison Zemanski has a team-leading 21 blocks to complement 55 kills.
