Quertinmont Named President of Varsity Club

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Buddy Quertinmont is the new president of the West Virginia University Varsity Club, an organization of former Mountaineer letterwinners in all varsity sports.
Quertinmont, who has been associated with the Varsity Club since its inception and has served as vice-president and on the Board of Directors, was a three-year basketball letterman from 1963-65.
"Buddy was a great basketball player here at WVU," says Mountaineer athletic director Ed Pastilong. "He helped with many victories during his career, and we are pleased that he in continuing to help the Mountaineers in this important role."
A physical education graduate, Quertinmont operates Point Marion Ford; that business was opened by his family in 1947 and he has managed the dealership since 1970. He and his wife Brenda have two children, Lori, who played basketball at WVU for Coach Kittie Blakemore from 1988-92, and Buddy Jr., who was a four-year basketball letterman at Washington & Jefferson from 1987-90.
