MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sunday was cutdown day in the NFL and several former Mountaineer players were affected.

Wide receiver Antonio Brown, who played in the Canadian Football League last year, survived the final cut to make the 53-man roster for the Buffalo Bills. Free agent rookie Avon Cobourne was parlayed strong preseason play into a roster spot for the Detroit Lions.
Five former WVU players didn’t have similar fates. Defensive tackle Antwan Lake (Lions), running back Adrian Murrell (Cowboys), wide receiver Khori Ivy and defensive tackle David Upchurch (Steelers), fullback Corey McIntyre (Eagles) and kicker Jay Taylor (Browns) were among final cuts Sunday.
