Women's Soccer: WVU Set for Home Opener

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University women's soccer team plays host to Michigan State in its home opener on Monday, Sept. 1, at the Mountaineer Soccer Complex. Kickoff for the non-conference match is set for 3 p.m.
The Mountaineers enter the contest coming off a narrow 1-0 loss at No.10 Virginia on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Mountaineers and the Cavaliers played a scoreless match until UVA defender Gillian Hatch scored the game-winner in the 87th minute on a free kick.
Michigan State opened its 2003 campaign with a 1-0 victory over Furman on Friday, August 29.
Monday's match marks the first meeting between the two schools.
