Statement From Big East Presidents
June 26, 2003 10:20 AM | General
We are pleased that Syracuse and Boston College will remain members of the Big East, the conference where these great universities have always belonged. We hope that after full consideration Miami and Virginia Tech will also remain part of the Big East.
We are prepared to dismiss Boston College as a defendant from the lawsuit, and we have been notified that Virginia Tech has withdrawn as a plaintiff.
We do not know what decisions Miami and Virginia Tech will ultimately make. We are encouraged that Miami has said today that it needs to reflect fully on the offer before it makes a final decision.
