Football: Athletics Donates to Hospital

MORGANTOWN, W.VA. -- The West Virginia University department of intercollegiate athletics has donated $8,427 to West Virginia University Children's Hospital from the proceeds of the 2003 Gold-Blue spring football game.

The presentation on this weekend's Children's Miracle Network Telethon will bring WVU's total donations of the past 20 years to $417,450.57.

The Blue team defeated the Gold 27-13 in the annual game that closed spring practice on April 26. Coach Rich Rodriguez' Mountaineers open the 2003 regular season on Saturday, August 30, against Wisconsin at Mountaineer Field. For season ticket information, call 1-800-WVU GAME.
