Men's Basketball: Beilein Honored

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men’s basketball coach John Beilein has been named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 4 Coach of the Year for the 2002-03 season.
This is the third time that Beilein has received an NABC Coach of the Year award. He was named District 4 Coach of the Year in 2001 at Richmond and received the District 2 Coach of the Year honors in 1994 at Canisius.
Kentucky’s Tubby Smith was named the 2002-03 NABC Division I Coach of the Year.
This is the second time that a WVU coach has won an NABC Coach of the Year award. Retired coach Gale Catlett received the District 4 award for the 1997-98 season.
