MISSION BEACH, Calif. - The West Virginia University women's rowing varsity eight boat took home first in the Mesa Distributing/Samuel Adams Cal Cup race of the San Diego Classic this afternoon.
The Mountaineers finished with a time of 6:57.00. Loyola finished second with 6:57.20 and San Diego rounded out the top three with a time of 6:58.30.
West Virginia returns to action on Saturday, April 12, when they travel to the Camden, N.J., for the Knect Cup. The first race begins at 8 a.m.
