Women's Tennis: Hawaii Drops WVU

HONOLULU, HAWAII - The West Virginia University lost a close match to Hawaii, 4-3, on Monday afternoon at the Central Oahu Regional Park in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Mountaineers began the match with a doubles victory by the freshmen duo of Melissa Day and Raynie Theis. The pair picked up their 20th career doubles win together.
In singles play, West Virginia tallied wins from junior Courtney Howell, senior Anna Marie Underwood and junior Jennifer Watkins.
This is the fourth time this year West Virginia lost a match by one point.
The Rainbows improve to 6-9 on the year while the Mountaineers fall to 4-8.
West Virginia returns to action on Tuesday, March 18, when they face Wyoming. First serve is set for 11:00 a.m., Hawaiian Standard Time.
