MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- MSNsportsNET.com is pleased to present a special rebroadcast of the 1963 Southern Conference championship game played against Davidson at Richmond City Arena on March 2, 1963.
This broadcast will be made available to Mountaineer fans on MSNsportsNET.com during the NCAA tournament final four weekend beginning on Friday, April 4.
It was recorded on a series of LPs at radio station WRVA in Richmond, Va., and come from the personal collection of Dr. Larry Schwab. It is through his generosity that we are able to reproduce this broadcast in its entirety.
Including a brief introduction, there are six different files streamed in windows media format. You will need to have windows media player 7.1 or higher to listen to this broadcast (a link to download the player will be provided on the page). The recordings were comprised of five LPs and were in surprisingly good condition. There is virtually no editing in order to give the listener the exact experience one would have in 1963 -- commercials and all.
