WASHINGTON, D.C. – Freshman Carmen Bruce scored 20 points and Mary Lisicky added 17 to lead Georgetown to a 78-58 victory over West Virginia Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C.
Rebekkah Brunson scored 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the Hoyas, now 13-7, 45.
West Virginia got 19 points from sophomore Yolanda Paige. Sherell Sowho added 16 and Latitia Williams scored 10.
West Virginia’s leading scorer Kate Bulger failed to score, going 0 of 4 from the floor.
Georgetown led at halftime 34-31.
The Mountaineers dropped to 12-8, 1-8 with the loss. West Virginia returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Rutgers for a 7:30 p.m. game.
