WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The West Virginia University baseball team will have to wait another day to open its season.

Friday the Mountaineers' scheduled game at Wake Forest was canceled due to rain. The two teams will attempt to play Saturday at 1 p.m.

West Virginia is scheduled to finish the three-game series with the No. 7-rated Demon Deacons on Sunday, Feb. 16.
