Women's Basketball: WVU Falls at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Cappie Pondexter scored 18 points to lead No. 23 Rutgers to a 65-50 victory over West Virginia Wednesday night.
Mauri Horton added 14 points and Chelsea Newton scored 10 to help the Knights collect their sixth straight win.
Rutgers shot 46.9 percent from the field and made 17 of 25 free throws.
Rutgers held West Virginia, now 12-9, 1-9, to just 38.1 percent from the field for the game. Junior Kate Bulger led the Mountaineers with 16 points. Junior Michelle Carter scored 10.
Rutgers, 15-5, 8-2, led 33-18 at halftime.
West Virginia returns to action on Saturday at the WVU Coliseum against Miami. The game will be televised by MSN and will tip off at 2 p.m.
