MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Yolanda Paige made 6 of 8 free throws during the overtime period to help West Virginia to a 69-63 win over Missouri-Kansas City Tuesday night at the WVU Coliseum.

Paige, coming off a career-high 32-point effort in her last game against Duquesne, scored 16 points and handed out 9 assists to help West Virginia improve to 8-3.
Sherell Sowho paced the Mountaineers with 18 points on 7 of 11 shooting. Michelle Carter and Janell Dunlap contributed 11 points each.
Freshman Meg Bulger grabbed 10 rebounds for the Mountaineers.
Jayme Sweere led UMKC with 12 points.
Neither team shot the ball well; West Virginia made 44.6 percent of its field goal attempts while Missouri-Kansas City shot 32.1 percent.
The Kangaroos took 25 more shots than West Virginia and out-rebounded WVU, 54-40.
The Mountaineers were 5 of 24 from three-point range for 20.8 percent while UMKC was 4 of 15 for 26.7 percent.
West Virginia led 36-31 at halftime.
UMKC drops to 3-7.
West Virginia begins Big East play on Saturday, Jan. 3, at the WVU Coliseum against Pitt. That game will be televised by MSN.
