Women's Basketball: WVU Takes on UMKC

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University's women's basketball team (7-3) plays host to non-conference foe UMKC (3-6) Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 5:30 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum. It is the first game of a double-header with the WVU men who take on Howard at 8 p.m.
WVU is 1-0 all-time against the Kangaroos, having defeated UMKC 55-43 last year in St. Louis, Mo.
WVU is led by senior guard Kate Bulger and junior guard Sherell Sowho who are averaging 16.4 and 15.9 points per contest. Junior point guard Yolanda Paige, fresh off her career-high 32 points at Duquesne on December 20, leads the BIG EAST with 7.0 assists-per-game.
The matchup will also be the first of a three-game home-stand for the Mountaineers.
The game will be carried live by WAJR 1440 AM in Morgantown and 103.3 FM in Clarksburg and by WWVU 91.7 FM (U-92). Yahoo! Sports will also carry the game via www. MSNsportsNET.com.
