The Top 10 finish is the highest finish in the history of the WVU women's soccer program. It also marks the 20th-straight week that the Mountaineers have been ranked in the national Top 25.
Throughout the course of the season, West Virginia faced six teams who finished the season ranked in the Top 15. The Mountaineers went 2-3-2 against those teams, earning victories over Connecticut (No.2) and Tennessee (No.12), falling to Penn State (No.6), Notre Dame (No.9), and Florida State (No.4) and tying Villanova (No.15) twice.
West Virginia advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history in 2003, falling to eventual Final Four qualifier Florida State, 3-2, in double overtime.
