Swimming: Mountaineers Sweep Seton Hall

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The WVU swimming and diving team swept BIG EAST foe Seton Hall on Sunday afternoon at the Arthur E. Imperatote Natatorium.
Final team scores were not provided at the time of the release.
For the Mountaineer women (2-3, 1-1), freshmen Jennifer Nyce, Kristi Goodrick and Elizabeth Cleary each earned their first collegiate victories to lead WVU to victory.
Nyce captured first place in the one-meter (223.42) and three-meter (220.35) boards, while Goodrick notched a first-place finish in the 1000 freestyle (10:45.80) and Cleary won the 100 freestyle (54.64).
Sophomore Ashley Bissett stopped the clocks at 1:57.35 to win the 200 free and 5:10.15 to take first in the 500 free while fellow sophomore Olga Tzinker swam a 2:28.58 to claim victory in the 200 breaststroke.
The West Virginia men's team (3-1, 1-1) rode a three-win performance from all-BIG EAST senior Kleyton Franca, already his second three-win effort of the season through two weekends of competition.
The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native placed first in the 200, 500, and 1000 freestyle events to lead the Mountaineers.
Junior diver Brian Donahue had a solid day as he placed first on the one-meter (228.60) and three-meter (226.57) boards. Junior co-captain Matt Drozd stopped the clocks at 46.92 for a first-place finish in the 100 free while Richard Mann won the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:52.14.
Senior co-captain Travis Watson was victorious in the 200 butterfly event (1:55.18) for West Virginia.
The Mountaineers return to action on Friday, Nov. 7, when they travel to Columbus, Ohio, to face Ohio State and Louisville, at 5 p.m., at the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion.
