MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- The West Virginia University men's basketball team will play its lone exhibition game of the 2003-04 season on Saturday, Nov. 15, with a game against Northwest Sports.
Tipoff is set for 3 pm. Admission is free, and all seating will be general admission.
"I'm cautious about getting people too excited about this year's team," said Beilein. "Last year there was a big difference between us and the top teams in the Big East. We have a long ways to go in that regard, but I do like the direction and I'm very confident that we will reach our goals of post-season play in the future. Is it this year? Is it next year? I don't know."
Overall, Beilein thinks his team has made improvement over last season.
"They all pass the ball better and they all understand our system much better," he said. "I think they've made progress and I think they have a better understanding of what it takes to win."
The Mountaineer Sports Network will broadcast the game over the Internet through MSNsportsNET.com.
The Mountaineers open the regular season at James Madison on Monday, Nov. 24, at 7 p.m. WVU's home opener is Saturday, Nov. 29, against Northeastern at 6 p.m.
