Women's Soccer: Abbott Makes Hermann Cut

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University senior women's soccer forward, Chrissie Abbott has been selected one of 15 candidates for the 2003 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy.
In voting done by a nominating committee comprised of Division I coaches, Abbott made the first cut from 30 to 15.
A North Olmstead, Ohio, native, Abbott is one of three BIG EAST players who were selected as candidates. She is joined on the list by Notre Dame's Melissa Tancredi and the Fighting Irish's Amy Warner.
On the season, Abbott leads the Mountaineers with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points. She was recently named first-team all-BIG EAST for the second consecutive season.
The winner of the Hermann Trophy, soccer version's of the Heisman Trophy, will be determined in voting done by Division I coaches and will be announced in December at the men's College Cup.
