Basketball: Midnight Mania Returns

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's and women's basketball teams will usher in the beginning of basketball practice for the 2003-04 season with Midnight Mania.
The event will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, at the WVU Coliseum. Doors will open at 10:30 p.m.
Fans will get a chance to participate in games and earn prizes, which will begin at 11 p.m., and see the Mountaineers' first allowable moment for practice – seconds after midnight. The women's team will be introduced first, followed by the men's team. The men's team will conduct a 20-minute scrimmage. Fans will also be entertained to performances from the WVU cheerleaders and the Mountaineer Pep Band.
Admission is free, and the first 200 WVU students will receive a free pizza from Papa John's and a 20-ounce Coke.
The men's basketball team begins its second season under coach John Beilein. The WVU women's team enters its third season under coach Mike Carey.
