Volleyball: WVU Defeats Seton Hall 3-1

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University volleyball team (6-16) won the first two matches and then held on in four to defeat Seton Hall (16-10) 3-1 Sunday at the Coliseum.

The Mountaineers took game one 31-29 behind the strong play of senior Dimitra Havriluk who recorded four kills and four digs. Kelly Mullins also stepped up, adding three kills and six digs.
WVU would then roll in the second game as Havriluk and Julie Hockenson combined for 10 kills. Havriluk also recorded seven digs in the game.
The Pirates would seek revenge in the third game as they would earn a 30-25 win. Alex Dyer tallied six kills in the Seton Hall victory.
The Mountaineers would prove undeterred as they rode Hockenson's six kills to a 30-26 game four win and put away Seton Hall 3-1.
Havriluk paced the team in the match recording 14 kills and a team-high 24 digs. Hockenson led the team in kills with 15.
WVU hits the hardwood again on Friday, Oct. 31, when they travel to Miami for a date with the Hurricanes at 7 p.m.
