MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Having gone 1-0-1 last week, the West Virginia University women's soccer team dropped slightly in the latest round of national rankings.
The Mountaineers routed non-conference foe Radford 5-0 on Friday, Oct. 17, at the Mountaineer Soccer Complex before playing to a scoreless tie at Villanova the following Sunday.
In this week's Soccer America rankings, the Mountaineers are tabbed seventh, down one spot from the No.6 slot they held for the past two weeks.
The NSCAA rates West Virginia No.8 in its latest poll, while WVU fell from No. 8 to No.10 in the current SoccerBuzz rankings.
This week marks the 18th-straight week, dating back to September 23, 2002, that the Mountaineers have been ranked in the national Top 25.
West Virginia returns to action for its last BIG EAST match on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m., against rival Pitt at the Mountaineer Soccer Complex. Following that match, WVU will close out regular season play with a 1 p.m., contest against No.5 Penn State on Sunday, Oct. 26.
