Gymnastics: Home Opener Friday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia University's gymnastics team plays host to Eastern Michigan (0-1) in its home-opener this evening in the WVU Coliseum at 7 p.m.
The Mountaineers (3-1) boast a 164-32-1 all-time home record and in home openers are 35-8.
WVU is 2-0 all-time against Eastern Michigan and last faced the Eagles in 1985, a 180.15-170.15 Mountaineer win.
This week, WVU senior TeShawne Jackson is ranked eighth in the nation on vault while as a team the Mountaineers are eighth on vault and 24th on uneven bars.
WVU is coming off a loss at nationally ranked Central Michigan last week where WVU counted falls on every event except vault, including five on bars, in the 193.725-192.275 loss to the Chippewas.
So far this season, all five of WVU's freshmen have cracked the starting lineup and a total of 14 gymnasts have season action this season.
Jackson and freshman Shani Andrews are the lone Mountaineers to compete in the all-around this season.
