Women's Basketball: WVU Breezes by Delaware St.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women's basketball team (5-0) breezed by Delaware State (0-2) 69-38 for its fifth-straight victory Wednesday night at the WVU Coliseum.

Juniors Kate Bulger and Sherrell Sowho led the Mountaineers with 17 points each. Bulger went 6-of-13, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, to log her fifth consecutive double figure game. Sowho, who has been WVU's leading scorer in four of its first five contests, finished the night 7-of-13 from the field.
Sophomore Liz Holbrook came off the bench for West Virginia to tally the Mountaineers' first double-double of the year. The forward grabbed 11 rebounds and poured in 11 points against the Hornets.
Delaware State was led by Terrelle Waller who finished the night with 11 points on 4-of-15 shooting.
The win marked the third-straight game that the Mountaineers defeated their opponent by at least 29 points. West Virginia's five-game win streak is the first time since 1988-89 that WVU opened a season 5-0.
The Mountaineers return to action on Saturday, Dec. 7, when they travel to Robert Morris for a non-conference matchup beginning at 2 p.m.
