Men's Basketball: Big East Honors Pittsnogle

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – West Virginia University freshman Kevin Pittsnogle has been named Big East rookie of the week, the conference announced Monday.

Pittsnogle, a 6-foot-10, 225-pound freshman from Martinsburg, W.Va., averaged 18 points while shooting 60.9 percent from the floor in games against Duquesne and James Madison. In a 70-67 win over James Madison last Saturday, Pittsnogle finished with 17 points and five rebounds. He began the week with 19 points in a four-point loss at Duquesne last Monday.
For the season, Pittsnogle is averaging 14.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.
West Virginia resumes play on Tuesday, Dec. 3 against No. 7-ranked Florida at the Charleston Civic Center. The game will tip off at 7 p.m.
