Women's Soccer: Stoia Honored

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Junior midfielder Lisa Stoia has been named to the Soccer America team of the week for her efforts in the BIG EAST quarterfinal match against St. John's.
A native of Shirley, N.Y., Stoia scored two goals and tallied an assist in West Virginia's 4-0 shutout of St. John's. She currently has the 27th highest assists per game average in Division I. A member of the preseason all-BIG EAST team, Stoia is currently the team's second leading scorer with eight goals and 10 assists for 26 points on the season.
The Mountaineers return to action in the BIG EAST semifinal on Friday, November 8, at Morrone Field in Storrs, Conn. Kickoff for the match is set for 7:00 p.m.
A win against Rutgers would advance West Virginia to the BIG EAST championship match for the second consecutive season. The BIG EAST championship will be played on Sunday, November 10, at noon. A same day tape-delayed broadcast of the match will be aired on Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh at 12:30 p.m.
