MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University wrestling team is set to host the 21st annual WVU Open Saturday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m. in the Shell Building.
The tournament is a classic open tournament where there are no team scores and anyone is able to participate.

"We're excited to get this season started," head coach Craig Turnbull said. "The guys are tired of going against the same guys every day and are anxious to get some new competition. We have still have a few things to work out in our lineup, and this is a good place to do some sorting.
The Mountaineers enters the season ranked as the tenth-best dual meet team according to the preseason Intermatwrestle.com poll and is rated the ninth-best tournament team in the nation according to Amateur Wrestling News.
Individual West Virginia wrestlers ranked by Amateur Wrestling News are: Greg Jones (1st), Shane Cunanan (5th), Tom McMath (6th), Brent Miller (9th), Billy Smith (11th), Brandon Lauer (18th) and Ryan Wilman (19th).
