Cross Country: BIG EAST Championships Results

BOSTON - The West Virginia University men's and women's cross country teams each finished sixth at the BIG EAST Championships this afternoon at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. Villanova men and Notre Dame women took home the conference crowns.
Sophomore Megan Metcalfe placed third in the women's 6,000-meter course with a time of 20:29. Notre Dame swept the top two spots with Lauren King (20:23) and Molly Huddle (20:28) finishing first and second, respectively. Runners competing for the Mountaineers included Tara Struyk (15th, 21:19), Devon Plesuk (37th, 22:14), Jennifer Kemp (40th, 22:17) and Susan Davis (48th, 22:46).
Leading the way for the men was sophomore Zack Sabitino who finished 17th with a time of 24:29. Matt Pettit (24th, 25:01), Robbie Watson (45th, 25:46), Peter Knuchel (47th, 25:50) and Nick Albanito (50th, 25:55) rounded out the men's squad.
The Mountaineer's return to action on November 16, when they host the NCAA Regionals at Canaan Valley Resort in Davis, W.Va
