MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia University senior shooter Nicole Allaire has been named to the 2002-03 United States National Team. Selections were announced in Ft. Benning, Ga., after the conclusion of the 2002 Fall Selection Matches.
"I am very happy to see Nicole qualify for the National Team," said coach Marsha Beasley. "This is the next step for her to enter before international shooting next summer."
A Kearny, N.J., native, Allaire finished seventh in the women's air rifle competition and 12th in smallbore. A transfer from Nebraska where she was a two-time All-American, Allaire sat out of competition for the Mountaineers last year due to NCAA regulations.
The National Team includes 84 members who shoot and train while either attending school or working.
