Rifle to Host NCAA Qualifying Match

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University rifle coach Jon Hammond announced today that the No. 1-ranked Mountaineers will play host to an NCAA Qualifying match on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the WVU Rifle Range. The match will begin at 8 a.m. and continue into the afternoon.
NCAA Qualifying matches are not against specific opponents. Instead, WVU will shoot for a high score that will factor into its final NCAA Championships qualification average. The Mountaineers are the two-time defending NCAA champions and have won a nation-best 16 titles.
The Mountaineers (8-0, 6-0 GARC) return to action on Saturday, Jan. 17, against Nebraska. The squads will meet at the WVU Rifle Range at 8 a.m.
