Rifle: WVU Hosts Open Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Rifle Range hosted an open invitational this weekend. The match marked the first competition since the installation of a new state-of-the-art electronic target system.
Tommy Santelli, a native of Washington, Pa., won the smallbore competition with a score of 584 points. Brandi Eskew, who hails from West Virginia, came in second as she shot 578 points. Justin Pentz, a shooter from Dubois, Pa., rounded out the top three with an aggregate of 576 points.
Kyle Smith, also from Dubois, took the air rifle contest as he shot 583 points. Palmyra, Pa., native Cody Rutter came in second with an aggregate of 582 points. Michael Kulbacki, one of seven shooters from Dubois, finished third as he shot 579 points.
The weekend proved to be a fun experience for the shooters and a great first match with the new targets.
