MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University rifle team will travel to North Carolina this weekend to take on N.C. State at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18.
WVU enters tomorrow’s match after a weekend of GARC competition. The Mountaineers (2-3, 1-3) fell 4548-4633 to Nebraska on Saturday, Nov. 10. Senior Brian Launer led WVU as he posted the highest smallbore and air rifle scores for the Mountaineers during both days of competition.
N.C. State (11-0) will compete in its first home match of the season when it hosts West Virginia. The Wolfpack extended its perfect mark as it won the SEARC No. 3 competition on Nov. 4. Matthew Gifford shot 574 points in air rifle while Bill Reynolds recorded 566 points in the smallbore competition to help lift N.C. State to victory.
West Virginia holds a 6-0 mark all-time over the Pack.
