WV Heroes, presented by the West Virginia Lottery

The West Virginia Lottery and your Mountaineers have teamed up to provide local Veterans, Active Duty Military, First Responders and their families an opportunity to attend a Mountaineer home game! Fans can sponsor a HERO by donating just $20. The West Virginia Lottery will match the first 500 donations. Fans that sponsor five or more HEROES will be entered into a drawing to win pregame field passes and other prizes!

WV Heroes Collage Thank you for supporting the 2019 WV Heroes program! Due to the support and generosity of our fans and the tremendous partnership with the West Virginia Lottery. Over 4000 tickets were distributed to local veterans, active duty military, and first responders throughout this football season!

My dad has been under a lot of stress lately with the health issues my mother is having. He hasn't been able to get out much to do anything fun. Last year at this time he was with my mother in Ruby memorial seeing her in ICU. He was with her at Ruby for all the home games and watched the crowds of fans in the Blue lot. It was nice to be able to take him to a game without having to watch it from the windows of the ICU and what also topped it off was a win against NC State. Go Mountaineers!!!"

"My oldest son has begged me to take him to a WVU game since we moved close to Morgantown (11 years) However, with deployments and life experiences my anxiety has forbid me to go. I also served as a Deputy and frankly, couldn't afford tickets on my salary. But I promised him if I could get someone I trusted to go and could afford the tickets I'd take him. Because of this donation, I was able to keep that promise. I was able to take both my sons and my father to our very first WVU game, 3 generations making lifetime memories. While entering the stadium I was approached by my battle Buddy/ Roommate who I was stationed with at Fort Beenning GA from 97-99. Me and Darryl Murry was in the 988th MP Co. There. We had not scene each other since 1999. The feeling that came over me and him was overwhelming we talked the whole fist half of the game I got a chance to meet his wife. I told her how he made the best Deer Jerky I ever had. Me and Darryl talked about the good times we had at Fort Benning. Because of Vettix and the Donors and my love for college football and the blessing from God allowed me and my Battle Buddy paths to cross after over 20yrs. Truly an amazing and humbling experience.
