Alex Harris joined the WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics in June 2016, as the Assistant Director of Athletic Marketing.
Harris is responsible for marketing and promoting the sports of women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, gymnastics and overseeing the Mountaineer Kids Club.
Prior to his arrival in Morgantown, Harris spent the last two years as a graduate assistant in marketing for TCU Athletics. While with the Horned Frogs, he created and executed all aspects of TCU Volleyball’s marketing plans.
During his tenure, volleyball season ticket sales increased by more than 225 percent, including a 144 percent increase for the 2014-15 season. The program finished in the top-25 nationally in attendance in 2015 after a 31 percent increase during the last two years. Harris also assisted with the marketing plan for TCU men’s basketball and was the floor manager for all home games. Additionally, he assisted with promotional efforts for baseball, football, women’s soccer and community outreach.
As an undergraduate student at Kansas State University, Harris spent the 2013-14 season as a marketing intern for the Wildcats Athletic Department. He assisted with the planning and execution of the K-State volleyball marketing plan. Additionally, he coordinated group sales for volleyball, women’s basketball and baseball.
Harris graduated from K-State with a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 2014 and earned his master’s degree in educational leadership from TCU in 2016.
