Jay Kuntz, who has spent nine years with the Mountaineer basketball program, was named Coordinator of Player Development in July 2015. He enters his third year in his current role.
Kuntz spent three years as a graduate assistant in men’s basketball and was a four-year student assistant from 2008-12. He also served as an assistant camp director for the Bob Huggins Basketball Camps and coordinated the men’s basketball manager staff of 16 individuals.
In his current role at WVU, Kuntz will assist with the coordination of on-campus recruiting activities, organize community outreach activities, assist in film and on-court analysis for player development and serve as the liaison to the academic services unit.
A native of Wallingford, Connecticut, Kuntz graduated from WVU in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in multidisciplinary studies and earned a master’s degree from WVU in athletic coaching education in 2014.
