Emily Patton joined the WVU Athletic Department in September 2014 as an assistant director for student-athlete development. Patton handles the day-to-day academic services for baseball, gymnastics, rowing and volleyball.
Patton previously served as an academic advisor and tutor coordinator at UT-San Antonio from 2010-14, where she worked with baseball, men’s and women’s track and field and men’s and women’s tennis.
Patton was responsible for advising with regards to time management and study skills, scheduling and registration, major selection and university/Conference USA/NCAA academic requirements. Additionally, she coordinated all tutor matters for assigned sports and coordinated daytime and evening study hall for assigned sports.
Prior to her time at UTSA, Patton was a graduate assistant at Missouri from 2008-10, where she assisted with monitoring, tracking academic progress and eligibility of students who competed in baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s swimming and women’s tennis.
A native of Poland, Ohio, Patton received a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish from Bethany College in 2006. Patton was a four-year starter on the softball team, as well as a four-time all-conference selection. She earned her master’s degree in education counseling and psychology from Missouri in 2010.
