Ashley Bailey enters her third year as an assistant director for athletic communications after joining the staff at West Virginia in July of 2014. She is the primary media contact for the volleyball, wrestling and men’s golf programs.
Prior to joining the Mountaineers, Bailey spent two years as an assistant director of sports information at Davidson College in Davidson, N.C., where she handled field hockey, volleyball, women’s cross country/track & field, swimming & diving and wrestling for the Wildcats. In 2013, she accompanied the men’s basketball team to the 2013 NCAA Tournament and promoted a pair of NCAA National Qualifiers for the Davidson wrestling team in 2014.
While at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, S.C., from 2010-12, Bailey served as both the assistant director for sports information and interim sports information director. In her second year, she oversaw the publicity efforts for all of the Buccaneers’ 14 Division I sports. She served as the primary media contact for football, men’s and women’s basketball, track & field, men’s and women’s golf and baseball while in Charleston.
Bailey earned a Master of Business Administration in 2010 from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa., where she was a graduate assistant in the athletic communications office from 2008-10. She was the contact for the field hockey, women’s soccer, swimming & diving and women’s lacrosse teams during her tenure. Bailey also handled football and women’s basketball, hosting the 2010 Northeast Conference Tournament and joining the team at the 2010 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
A native of South Dartmouth, Mass., Bailey graduated from Ohio University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism/Public Relations.
