Grant Dovey is in his eighth year with the West Virginia University Intercollegiate Athletic Department, and was named Digital Media Manager in July 2015.
In his current role, he serves as the daily manager of WVUsports.com. Additionally, Dovey is the administrative and technical contact for the athletic department's multiple websites, micro websites and mobile and social media platforms.
Previously, Dovey served as Assistant Director of Athletic Communications (December 2012-July 2015), graduate assistant (June 2011-December 2012) and student assistant (August 2008-May 2011), as the primary media contact for baseball, men's soccer and swimming and diving.
With the baseball team, Dovey helped to promote All-Americans Kyle Davis and Harrison Musgrave, as well as 11 players who went on to play professionally. He also helped to promote multiple appearances on ESPN SportsCenter Top 10, including two No. 1 plays in 2015.
Dovey helped with four men's soccer All-Americans, including Andy Bevin, who was named a Senior Class Award Finalist and the Capital One Academic All-American of the Year in 2014. He also publicized the team in two appearances in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Dovey spent the summer of 2012 in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., where he worked at The Greenbrier Classic, a PGA TOUR event that won the distinction of “Best in Class.” His duties included managing three Pro-Am events, while also working with golf vendors to ensure participants received appropriate vendor gifts. He also did numerous graphic and design work, and assisted with operational plan implementation.
The Downingtown, Pa., native graduated from West Virginia University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, specializing in public relations. He received a master's degree in sport management from WVU in 2013.
