After 10 years of working as a Production Assistant and Producer/Director for WVU University Relations, Chris Ostien joined the WVU Athletic Department full time in October of 2007.
Ostien moved to Morgantown in June of 1997 to work in the Radio and Television Services department at West Virginia University. During that time he served as a freelancer for the athletic department, producing for Mountaineer Magazine and Mountaineer Jammin’ as well as replay operator for the video board at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. He assumed the role of video board producer in 2005.
Outside of his work for the Mountaineers, Ostien has worked as a freelancer for every major television network and sports network in the country, either as an EVS Op, Producer or Director.
Since taking his current position in 2007, he has served as Video Board producer ( of content and game day execution) for all venues at WVU. He oversees the production of all live stream events for the Athletic Department. He has implemented a student workforce, as well as an office intern program, and is responsible for the production of all major WVU Athletic Department videos.
A native of North Apollo, PA, Ostien graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 1996 with a degree in Radio and Television. He serves as adjunct faculty for the College of Media at WVU, and spends his summers working as the lead producer for the West Virginia Black Bears of the NY-Penn League. He and his wife Jenny reside in Westover with their son Alex, a student at St. Francis Central Catholic School.
