MORGANTOWN, W.Va – The West Virginia University rowing team will embark on its 2017 spring season at the Sixth Annual Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the Melton Lake Rowing Venue in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

The field will also include, Clemson, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Tulsa and Virginia.
“We've had a productive training camp so far and we're looking forward to capping it off at the Cardinal Invite,” coach Jimmy King said. “This weekend's racing will provide an opportunity for us to test various line-ups against some top competitors to complete our week long assessment of progress that has been made and work that needs to be done.”
Saturday’s morning session is set to launch at 9:14 a.m. WVU’s first race on the 2000-meter course will be at 10:58 a.m., and a new boat will launch in eight minute intervals until 11:22 a.m. The afternoon session for the Mountaineers is slated to begin at 5:10, and five boats will launch in eight minute intervals until 5:42.
