– Four players scored in double-digits, but the No. 15 West Virginia University women's basketball team let the lead slip away in the final minute of regulation as the Mountaineers fell to TCU, 76-74, in overtime at the WVU Coliseum on Saturday

Senior guard
Chania Ray and junior guard
Naomi Davenport led the Mountaineers (15-3, 3-3) with 17 points and four steals each. Ray hit a pair of crucial free throws with five seconds left in regulation, helping to force the extra period.
Senior forward
Kristina King added a double-double, the third of her career, by grabbing 10 rebounds and scoring 12 points. Junior guard
Katrina Pardee dished out a game-high five assists, while senior forward
Teana Muldrow registered 16 points and secured eight boards.
"(It was a) sloppy game," coach
Mike Carey said. "We gave up a lot of offensive rebounds and turnovers. We had the game won two different times. We had it won in regulation, made a defensive mistake and we had it won in overtime. We get a jump ball there, and then we don't step out and guard a girl that we told them could shoot the three."
Pardee opened the scoring for the Mountaineers after an early bucket from the Horned Frogs. WVU grabbed the lead at the 8:30 mark on a layup by Muldrow. After trading a pair of buckets, Pardee nailed a trey to put the Mountaineers ahead 11-5. Following the three, Muldrow added a layup and
Ashley Jones hit a three-pointer to extend the lead to 16-7, forcing TCU to call a timeout. After the timeout, Ray hit a running King in stride, who converted the layup to make the score 18-7. Which 36 seconds remaining in the quarter, Davenport knocked down a three as the Mountaineers led 25-17 at to the end of the first quarter.
The Mountaineers were held scoreless Horned Frogs began the second on a 6-0 run to cut the WVU lead to just four. Davenport hit a trey with 5:29 remaining to halt the run. She would then knock down a shot at the charity stripe to extend WVU's lead to seven, 30-23. Following the media timeout, King scored a layup to push the lead to nine. Davenport drained her second trey of the game with 3:34 remaining in the half. After a two-minute scoreless streak, Muldrow and King added one layup a piece to make the score 39-28. Following a free throw by TCU, Davenport drove hard to the basket and was fouled with three seconds remaining. After she knocked down both of the ensuing free throws, the Mountaineers led 41-29 heading into the intermission.
Following the break, Davenport added her third bucket from downtown at the 7:19 mark to give the Mountaineers a 44-31 advantage. After a Muldrow layup, Ray knocked down a three to give WVU a 49-31 edge. TCU would then go on a 14-6 run before Ray hit another three with 30 seconds remaining in the third to put the Mountaineers ahead 58-47 heading into the fourth.
The Mountaineers opened the fourth on a scoring drought and lost leading scorer Davenport, who fouled out in the opening minutes of the period, allowing TCU to cut the lead to 58-52 with 7:43 to play in the contest. Jones drove into the paint and dished it off to King who scored the layup and ended the drought at the 6:43 mark. A layup by Ray at 4:39 put the Mountaineers ahead by ten, 64-54. TCU went on to score ten points in a row, with a free throw by Amber Ramirez tying the game with 50 seconds to play.
Following a WVU timeout, Jones knocked down a jumper with 31 seconds to go. TCU's Ramirez came back with a layup to even the score at 66-all. With the clock under ten seconds, Ray drove to the basket, drawing the foul. She hit both free throws to put the Mountaineers ahead by two with five seconds to play, but TCU scored a layup on the final play in regulation to send the game into overtime.
TCU struck first in overtime, scoring a layup at 4:29 to go ahead 70-68. Following a TCU free throw, Muldrow scored hit two foul shots to cut the score to 71-70. Muldrow added another bucket to put WVU up 72-71 with 1:51 to play. A TCU layup put the Horned Frogs ahead 73-72 until Ray scored another clutch shot with 1:09 putting West Virginia ahead, 74-73. After a couple of traded possessions without a score, TCU's Amy Okonkwo stole the inbounds pass and drained a three with four seconds remaining to give the Horned Frogs the 76-74 win.
West Virginia heads to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to face No. 20/22 Oklahoma State on Wednesday. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
