August 31, 2017 03:25 PM | Men's Soccer
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men's soccer team hosts Wright State on Friday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. ET in the home opener at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
In support of Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, WVU coach Marlon LeBlanc will donate $1 for every fan in attendance Friday night. Fans will be able to donate money at the match to help the relief efforts, and the Mountaineer Maniacs will match LeBlanc's donation to Houston.
"My wife and I, in the name of West Virginia soccer and our guys and our program, are going to match $1 for every person in attendance for our game against Wright State," LeBlanc said. "Looking at what's going on and the devastation down there, we have Louis Thomas on our team from Houston, and Christian Diaz, who was a four-year player and who's a GA with us now, we have two guys who are from that area. In their honor, and in their name and the name of our program, we want to do just a little bit to help out. We decided that this would be a good way for us as a program, and us as a family, to reach out and help the people down in the Houston community."
Friday's match is a Dollar Night, and tickets and select concession items will be available for $1. Additionally, all fans in attendance will receive a free 2017 schedule poster, and sunglasses will be given away to the first 250 fans. Tickets are available at WVUGAME.com, 1-800-WVU GAME or on gameday at the DDSS ticket office.
