Charity Softball Game Set for Friday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Mountaineer fans are invited to Monongalia County Ballpark on Friday, Aug. 25 for the fourth annual WVU men's basketball charity slow pitch softball game. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The game will feature the WVU men's basketball staff (coaches, support staff and managers) against the current WVU men's basketball team. The basketball staff will be managed by Bob Huggins, while the student-athletes will be managed by Larry Harrison.
Admission will be $3 at the gate. WVU students will be admitted free with a valid ID, courtesy of Little General Stores. All proceeds will be donated to Jaxen's Journey for pediatric cancer research.
"This has been a great event for our basketball program to start the school year," said Huggins. "It's also a great opportunity for Mountaineer fans to come out to see this year's team in person, while also raising money for a great cause."
The staff has won all three softball games so far, 7-4 last year, 14-6 two years ago and 16-12 three years ago.
